Applications are used by Work of Art to identify and evaluate potential board candidates. This committee will interview potential board members and make recommendations to the full board of director.
Board of Directors Job Description
Serves a minimum of 1 two-year term on the Board. Eligible to serve 2 two-year terms.
Attends board meetings and important related meetings on a regular basis. The Full Board of Directors meet the 3rd Monday of every month at 6:00 pm at 1717 E. Main Street (Capital One Building). Meetings last 1 - 1.5 hours.
Attends events (1 per month)
Volunteer at special events, as required
Participate in fundraising efforts
Prepare for meetings by reviewing notes and reports
Listen well and be thoughtful in considering issues
Get to know other directors and build a collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus
Provide strategic leadership
Be knowledgeable about the organization's values, mission, programs and performance
Be an ambassador for the organization and promote its work in the community
Ensure the organization's financial viability and sustainability
